Veterans Day…a day we honor veterans of the armed forces; a day we honor the duty, sacrifice and service of America’s veterans of all wars.
To those who have served we thank you. You protect us and our country, keeping us safe as we go about our daily lives. Your sacrifice not only includes the dangers some of you faced, but the time away from loved ones. You may have missed the birth of a child or grandchild, birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations, just spending time with family and friends. You have faced mental and physical challenges and dangers most of us will never fully comprehend. We thank those who have passed, those still living who served and those who are currently serving…for us, our country, our families, our freedom.
And let’s salute your families too, who “share” you with the country. I cry every single time I watch some of our troops come home (on TV) and see the kids running up to their fathers or mothers who have been gone. Tears of joy and happiness pour down my face as I watch families reunited.
For ALL who have served…we thank you!
