Shop Small Business Saturday is on November 26th. Small Business Saturday is a nationwide movement to celebrate small businesses and to help communities thrive, created by American Express in 2010. For several years now I have featured small businesses in our area prior to the 26th, giving you a peek inside the stores and showing […]
Last Saturday my husband and I wanted to do something that wasn’t too expensive, too far away and that would be outdoors. Well I remembered reading about the Colorado Farms & Art Market at the Margarita at Pine Creek in the Colorado Springs Independent and had never been there so we went.
Hope you get the book, have some fun exploring and get out of the house….take time to enjoy life, even if you’re on a budget!

I’m still trying to get all my holiday decor packed away and now, right around the corner is Tax Day, which means it’s already the middle of April! I found a great list of 15 restaurants that offer free meals for the kiddos!
Never been to The Cliff House because you thought it was too expensive. I think you’d be very, very surprised how affordable it can really be.
Looking for something to do this Labor Day weekend? Why not check out the Colorado Balloon Classic, held in Memorial Park?
It’s been awhile since I’ve shopped in Manitou Springs so I decided to grab my camera and notebook and see what unique hostess (or any occasion) gifts I could find…for $10 or less….hoping to find at least a few ideas. Well, I had forgotten how cool the stores are and ended up finding a lot more $10 or less gifts than I imagined. So I’ve decided to feature just a couple of shops each week for the month of August so I can really give you a better idea of the stores and merchandise there.
I found the MOTHERLOAD! Ulta is having a huge sale on beauty products: $1-$5!!
I recently wrote a post about cute summer shoes for $30 or less and one of the shoes I showcased was from Kmart. Well, it had been years since I had been in to a Kmart store so I decided to visit one and see what I could find at a low price. Overall, I found their prices similar to Target or Wal-Mart for clothes but I really wanted to focus on their accessories and what a great bunch of deals I got!
One of the things I look forward to every summer is going to our local farmers market. Of course I go because there’s nothing like fresh vegetables and fruits at a good price but I also enjoy the whole experience.
Here is a list of the different locations and times of our local Colorado Springs farmer’s markets.
I had not been to a JC Penney store since they started their new campaign of lowering prices and having less sales and coupons but I visited a store today and was amazed at just how great the prices were for great quality clothing. Here’s ten wardrobe staples you might consider adding to your closet if you don’t already own them.
Good deals on brunch/breakfast foods this week in case you want to make mom something special….good deals on produce and meats that would make up a great barbecue too!
My husband and I had a great meal at Colorado Springs’ newest Mexican restaurant. Here’s my review of the experience:
There’s some great deals on meats this week….if you have freezer room, take advantage of them. Also some good deals on dairy. Don’t forget, you can go to the grocery store websites and download and print coupons or if the store has a club card, download them on to your card. Every little bit helps.
