Our First Goodwill Fashion Winner-See What She Got

We just finished up with our first contest winner, Megan, and she was such a good sport, willing to try on anything and everything we threw in the cart! And she is so cute! My friend Ashley met up with us at Goodwill for our adventure (Ashley’s the person who gave me the Goodwill gift card that gave me this contest idea and she has a flair for fashion!).

Megan was willing to try some colors she hadn’t worn before (she’s like me with mostly blacks and greys in her wardrobe) and since she has such a beautiful complexion and drop-dead gorgeous eyes, we wanted to play off those assets. We shopped for about an hour, filling the basket with dresses and skirts and different tops of every color, style, length and cut. Then she went in to the dressing room to try everything on. We had some definite “no’s”, a “maybe” pile and another pile that we all liked.

Then (while she was still in the dressing room) I wandered over to a rack we hadn’t looked at, spotted a dress that caught my attention, held it up for Ashley to look at and we were both nodding our heads YES! Megan tried it on and it was perfect! The colors looked so great on her and made those eyes just pop. Ashley found a cute belt to give Megan’s waist some definition and we were able to find a necklace to compliment the entire look.

The dress is a Vera Wang that cost $7.99 and looks like it’s brand new and just came out of a fashion magazine. The belt was $1.99 and the chunky turquoise necklace was $2.99. Here’s the great thing about all these pieces. Megan can wear this dress year-round…just as she’s wearing it now, or with a cardigan or sweater tossed on when it’s cooler. Throw some tights on and boots and with a sweater she can wear it in the fall or winter. She can wear heels, flats, sandals or boots with this. She can also wear it with a pair of jeans. The skinny belt can be worn with anything and the necklace is a pop of color she can add to any of her pieces. Total cost of the dress, necklace and belt (with tax) was $13.94. (BTW, This lovely woman had a baby just eight weeks ago!)

While we were there Megan also found three great tops, one being an Ann Taylor shirt that had never been worn, still had the tags on it with the price of $39.50 that she got for $5.99!

We had a fun time. And the Goodwill on Circle has been nothing but welcoming to us and we appreciate that.  Ashley was a huge help and  Megan looked great and was so easy to work with. She’s a friendly and good-spirited woman and it was nice getting to know her. And she looks FABULOUS!
