Win 2 Free Tickets to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

Did you know that the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is America’s only mountain zoo? AND it’s right in our own backyard!

The zoo is home to more than 700 exotic animals and it’s one of my very favorite places to visit. Prices range from $17.25 to $14.25 each for adults, depending on the time of the year and children (ages 3-11) tickets are $12.25 to $10.25 each; again, depending on the time of the year. There’s also discounts given to seniors and military…kids 2 and under are free.

The prices might seem steep but the zoo is a non-profit organization and one of only a handful of accredited zoos in the country that does not receive local or regional public tax support. I’m sure those animals eat a ton of food and I don’t think anyone working there is getting rich! So, the prices (to me) seem fair. But, if you’re on a budget the zoo might not seem like a get-away you can afford right now…..so we’d like to help.

Beginning Monday, April 2, 2012 enter our contest to receive two free tickets to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (value of $28.50-$34.50)….if you’ve been to the zoo, tell us your favorite animal you like to visit, a fun zoo experience or your favorite thing to do there. If you haven’t been, tell us what you’re most excited to see there.

We’ll randomly choose a winner on Monday April 16th.

I love going to the zoo in the fall or in the spring when it is cooler out and the animals were more active. Last spring when we went to the zoo one of the tigers was pacing up and down along one of the walls and looking up. As we passed the wall there was a group of deer on the other side of the wall. It was pretty cool.

I LOVE the snow leopards! But I love to watch the enjoyment my daughter gets out of being so up close and personal with the animals. There is nothing that compares to the feeling you get seeing pure joy on your children’s faces 🙂 That is priceless and is why I love the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo 🙂
