Well, earlier this month we started a contest for our July Discover Goodwill makeover for first responders that helped with the Waldo Canyon Fire or the Black Forest Fire. After a week, we didn’t have any entries. I was going to enter a few names but after talking to some women at the fire departments, I realized, they really didn’t want to be “singled” out when they were just “doing their job.”
Well, I honor their wishes, respect their privacy, and since we still have a makeover to do, we’ll open it again, available to anyone that can meet me at a local Discover Goodwill, (Colorado Springs, Fountain, Woodland Park or Pueblo.)
If you’re not familiar with our monthly contests, here’s how it works:
Enter a comment letting us know why you need/want a “new” outfit and then we’ll randomly choose a name. The winner will meet Ashley and me at whatever local Goodwill they choose. We’ll help you find a “new” outfit, (up to $25) and then post pictures of you and the winning outfit. By entering the contest, you give us permission to use your photos. If you haven’t seen some of the fabulous outfits we’ve found in the past, you can check them out in our fashion section.
The contest starts today, Wednesday, June 17th and runs through Sunday, July 21st. We’ll announce the winner on Monday, July 22nd.

I’m going to enter my friend, Jen. I think she could especially use this makeover now because her husband just went to the east coast for a month long course for his Master’s degree, so she will be here with her two little girls by herself for the next four weeks. I’d volunteer to watch her girls for her, of course, so that she could really enjoy this makeover if she wins. 🙂
