Sky Sox Giveaway…Free Preparedness Kits at the Sky Sox Game (May 21st)

DSC_0709Hundreds of Disaster Preparedness Kits will be given out at the Sky Sox game on Wednesday, May 21st. Sponsored by Allstate Foundation and Points of Light Foundation. Even though the game starts at 6:35, if you want to get a free preparedness kit, you’ll want to get there when the gates open at 5:30 because they’ll go fast.

The Allstate Foundation and Points of Light Help Ensure Colorado Springs Residents are Prepared for Emergencies and Natural Disasters

Allstate agency owners and community volunteers will help hundreds of citizens
build free disaster preparation kits during the Sky Sox game on Wednesday, May 21st.

WHAT:  The Allstate Foundation and Points of Light are bringing their 14-city disaster preparation tour and education campaign to Colorado Springs on Wednesday, May 21st.

Research shows 85 percent of Americans are un-prepared for disaster and nearly half lack emergency supplies for use in the event of a disaster.

Community volunteers and Allstate agency owners will work side-by-side to help hundreds of Colorado Springs residents build free disaster kits they can use to keep safe in the event of a disaster or unforeseen emergency. The free kits include a flashlight, first aid kit, cleaning supplies and other items proven to keep people safe and prepared.

This event will also help educate Colorado Springs residents on the importance of preparedness.

WHEN:Wednesday, May 21st

WHERE:Time: Game begins at 6:35 pm

Location: Security Service Field, 4385 Tutt Blvd, during the Sky Sox vs Memphis Redbirds game
