Farmers Market 2014

I look forward to this time of year all during the cold, snowy winter months. One of the things I really look forward to is the opening of all our local Farmers Markets. For me, it’s not only about getting great fruits and vegetables, it’s about the people-watching, being outside, the selections of really fresh produce, and supporting our local farmers. And most offer organic produce too. Here’s a list of local (Colorado Springs) markets and their 2014 schedule. Just fyi, I found the schedule on springsbargains.com which is a great site to find grocery and coupon deals if you haven’t checked it out. For those of you who live in other areas, the most simple way to find your local farmers markets, is to type in your city and the words, farmers market, which should easily pull up a schedule and locations for your area. It’s been a rough year for most farmers with all the strange weather…shopping your local markets will help them! I prefer going first thing in the morning when everything is fresh. But most markets will lower their prices at the end of the day so they don’t have to take it back with them. Of course they won’t have as large a selection but it will save you some money.
