Veggies, Fruits & Herbs You Can “Re-Grow”

Anytime I can save money on food, I’m all for it. I saw this really fabulous, easy-to-follow article from Wake Up World on how you can easily re-grow foods like onions, leeks, and even pineapple. A couple of years ago I tried growing potatoes from an old potato that had sprouted lots of eyes. It did root but I didn’t plant it in the right season and I think the squirrels nibbled on it too, so I never did get potatoes. I’m going to try it again though. I haven’t personally tried any of these tips but I’ve printed out this article and will try most of them, depending on the growing time because we don’t have, (at least for me) a very long period of warm weather here where we live.

I have tried growing herbs in water and had pretty good results. I did have a challenge with basil but have friends with a much “greener” thumb than me who had better luck. I use fresh herbs as much as I can so as the warmer months start winding down I do what I can to preserve them, every year…
