Last year I reviewed (and loved) the As Seen On TV Star Shower Laser Light. We originally bought one but ended up getting a second to add even more fabulous lights to the outside of our house. Even with the Colorado snow, the Star Shower worked great and continued to work for the entire month of December. The one downside on reviews I read was that for some, the entire system or one of the two colored lights would stop working.
*I am thrilled to add that after plugging in our two systems from last year, they both are still working just fine.
This year there is a new design on the market with motion added, which I of course had to check out. It’s the new Star Shower Motion Laser Light and I can honestly say I am very happy with how well it works and how wonderful it looks.
Like the version without motion, it’s so simple to set up, showering your home with thousands of moving laser lights in seconds. Thousands of lights with no ladders, no hanging and no dead bulbs. There are 2 laser modes, it’s weather resistant, and the beams can cover over 3,2oo square feet. The colors of the lights can be switched from red and green or all green. And it comes with an indoor base and a lawn stake so you can use it indoors or out. There is also a push button to start or stop the motion.
Prices vary from store to store, depending on sales. You can of course order it from the As Seen On TV site, which will add the cost of shipping. You can also find it at Home Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond, Amazon, and most other large stores. You’ll pay anywhere from about $40 to $49 for it. (We bought ours on Cyber Monday from Amazon Prime for $39.99.)
A Few Things To Know…
This does not come with a very long cord at all. You will need an outdoor extension cord.
The system doesn’t need to be connected to a timer. The built-in light sensor will automatically shut off the product during the day and turn on once it gets dark. If you do set it up to a timer, you will have to manually turn the motion button on each time so just don’t use a timer.
The star shower Motion is intended to operate in temperatures from -30 degrees to 100 degrees. At or below freezing temperatures, it may take up to 10 minutes to warm up and reach its full projection strength.
And A Few More Things…
One of the complaints I read online is that the lights weren’t as bright as they appeared on the box or that their one system didn’t seem to have as many lights as again, what is shown on the box or commercial. They do very clearly have written on the box that using more than one Star Shower Motion Laser Light will give you even more fabulous results. We live on a hill with lots of different angles on our house so using two last year worked best for us. And instead of staking ours in the ground we actually hung ours in trees and secured them with electrical tape. This worked great for us and also helped keep the deer from stepping on them.
The lights only work when it is completely dark, which means if you have a lot of ambient light in your area, the lights will not show up as brightly.
Our Star Shower Motion Laser Light was delivered today and once I darkened one of our rooms, I immediately plugged it in and was in awe. It’s beautiful, just like the two we bought last year, with all the thousands of twinkling lights. And the added motion makes it even that much more festive.
This picture is one I took indoors just to test it out…(I’m writing this review before it gets dark outside so the lights won’t show up.)
Would I recommend this? Definitely yes!!
