Colorful April Dollar Deals…

There are lots of great spring/summer deals to be found at your local dollar store and I found some colorful items perfect for this time of year at our nearby Dollar Tree. From fashion to household to treats and travel, lots of useful deals.

We were on our way to an event the other night and were picking up a gift on our way. I could have kicked myself because I forgot to bring a gift bag and we ended up buying one at the store we were at. I paid $4.99 for a bag half this size and not nearly as cute. I hate when I do that! There are so many sizes and color varieties of gift bags you can find for a dollar…save money on the wrap and have more to spend on a gift.

If you have children or grandchildren, these ice pop makers are a great deal for some summer refreshing. Dishwasher safe, you can also fill these up with a more “spirited” concoction for the adult “kids”.

And if you don’t feel like making your own freezer treats, this package of 20 freezer pops are a great deal. Six flavors per box.

I’m not going to pay a lot of money for a coupon organizer because just how fancy does a coupon holder need to be? This colorful organizer has 12 labeled pockets, is expandable and has an easy elastic closure. Helps keep you organized as you save money.

It is more economical usually to buy potting soil in the larger bags but sometimes you just don’t need that much or you might not have the room to store it in. For smaller garden/potting needs, this 8 pound bag is a good bargain.

Perfect for travel or to keep in your purse, this sewing kit contains a needle threader, 25 needles, 1 tape measure, 12 straight pins, 6 assorted buttons, 5 assorted spools of thread, 1 thimble, 1 scissors and 12 safety pins. An inexpensive fix for any fashion emergency.

A common cause of illness in the kitchen is due to cross-contamination, especially from cutting boards. For smaller chopping and cutting chores, these cutting boards can help keep your food safe. Use a different color for meats, produce and breads and you wont’ have to worry. Of course you still want to clean them properly! Both of these are dishwasher safe. I took a permanent marker and (on the package of 3 chopping mats) wrote on the back of each one, what I wanted to use it for. The red cutting board is a great way to have fresh fruit for drink garnishes available or you could even use it for a small cheese tray. Perfect for summer entertaining. *These are perfect for smaller craft projects too…keeps your workspace free of glue, paint, etc.

I have been looking for measuring spoons that included a 1/8 teaspoon and have not had much luck. I did find one set but the store wanted $14.99….for measuring spoons? Unless that spoon can mix and stir itself, I refuse to pay a lot of money on something like that. So needless to say, when I saw this set, with 6 different measurements, including the 1/8 teaspoon, I was thrilled! Several bright colors to choose from too.

If you are having a garage sale this summer, don’t eat away at your profits by spending lots of money on the garage sale itself. This garage sale sign is big enough to be seen and comes already attached to a stake.

Another necessary item for garage sales but these only cost a dollar. If you buy them at an office supply store or craft store, you’ll pay a lot more. This comes with 420 labels.

I constantly lose my sunglasses and no longer spend a lot of money on them. Bright colored glasses are big this year and for only a dollar, it’s an affordable way to be “trendy”.

This hat pretty much looks like any woven hat you can find at the more expensive stores and it offers lots of sun protection. For a dollar, I can buy several of these for all my summer gardening. And if it gets dirty, who cares? It was only a dollar.

I thought this scarf was really pretty and an easy and cheap way to add a pop of color to my mostly black and white wardrobe. This would also look really cute wrapped around the straw hat.

Perfect for a day at your local farmers market, this tote is really strong. It’s also great for the beach, grocery shopping, or anytime you need a bag. Comes in lots of pretty patterns and colors too.

A cute way to accessorize, all three of these pieces look great together…..$3.00!
