As you probably know, I was on KKTV’s Moms Everyday on Friday, the 24th (how could you not–we plastered it everywhere!) and I took the host, Jen Lennon a hostess basket with goodies I made and found at Goodwill and the Dollar Tree…here’s the recipes I used and the items I bought that you could find at a local thrift store/dollar store….all for under $9.00….which would be the amount you’d spend on a bottle of wine (or more) or a bouquet of flowers.

Make An “Orange” Bird Feeder

The other day I added orange segments and cinnamon and was about to toss out the orange rinds when I thought, surely there’s something I can do with this? Which led me to making a bird feeder out of what I would have typically tossed. This is also a fun activity the kids can do during the summer.

Thrift Store Shopping…What To Look For

I love finding a great deal on something I need (or want)! I get real pleasure wearing an outfit that looks and feels great and not feeling “guilty” about it because it cost $10 (instead of $50 or more)! I think that even if we were millionaires, I’d still be hitting the thrift stores and derive a greater thrill from a bargain” find” than shopping at “exclusive” stores. (Of course that’s never going to be a decision I have to make! ha!)

Alternative Uses For…Cat Litter (Fresh, NOT Used!)

I found a pair of winter boots in the garage the other day that I haven’t used in a couple of years and I don’t know if a critter found its way in them to keep warm or what but boy did they stink! When I looked up what could possibly help with the smell, I found out cat litter could do the trick…and it did! Which of course made me wonder, what else can I do with cat litter…?
